Another Birthday!

Happy 2 Month Birthday Jack!

I can't believe another month has passed since we welcomed our sweet baby boy into the world. In some ways it feels like we have had him forever and in other ways it still seems so new. Here is what Jack has to say about himself at two months.

  • I weight 10 pounds, 11 ounces
  • I am one foot 10 inches
  • My head circumference is in the 40th percentile (baby genius material)
  • I am sleeping like a champ most nights. Mommy's getting more sleep and so am I. I love having a midnight/ 1am snack and wake up for an early breakfast (do you still consider it breakfast if it is 4am????)
  • I no longer despise my car seat. It brings me new and exciting places.
  • Like Mommy, I need to eat when I want to eat. Don't make me wait or I will get cranky. Eating every three to three and half hours is my norm during the day.
  • I have come out of my shell this month. I like smiling, cooing, squealing, sticking my tongue out, and kicking, kicking, kicking.
  • I still love to relax in my swing. I prefer this place over all others to nap.
  • I have a favorite toy. This is it...

Here are some new photos to enjoy!

Happy Baby

We recently had a little scare with Jack. We have known that he has an umbilical cord hernia, which will heal on its own as he grows. However, at his two month check up the pediatrician wanted to rule out an inguinal hernia, which would require surgery, that we had noticed a couple of days before while bathing him We headed to Texas Children's Hospital to get an ultrasound. We were so lucky to have Lovey come with us for support. While waiting for his ultrasound Jack enjoyed spending time with Lovey and even got a look at his first fish tank. I was so proud of Jack; he was so good and still for the ultrasound. The good news is that he does not have an inguinal hernia and we will just need to continue to monitor it and hope it will heal on its own.

Baby in the Span of One Minute

I love how expressive Jack is. He can go from sleepy to happy to mad to curious all in the span of about a minute. Here is the proof. I took these photos all in under a minute.

Venturing Out

Jack is such a great baby. Yesterday we took a two and a half hour outing and he was such a champ. Josh said Mommy was more stressed than little Jack ;). He is definitely right- as our one store trip turned into lunch, job site visit, venturing into the Galleria, Container Store, and fulfilling a cupcake craving. We are lucky to have such a pleasant baby who doesn't mind being toted around.

Here are some recent photos of Jack. He is growing like a weed. I can't believe he will be 2 months old next week. I am trying my best to cherish this last month at home with him.

Funny Face

Just remembered I didn't throw this one on he Blog.  Jack got an extra bath last night and he made a pretty funny face while coming out of a yawn...

The Big V Day

After a long day at work I came home to an awesome surprise! (let's get this out now... Cass is currently feeding Jack and told me to post something while I wait!)

Cass out did herself this year with the decorations.... She has really gotten into this pintrest stuff and is coming up with crafts and food ideas left and right!

To start out she had a cool little wreath on the door, and when I walked in she has tons of hearts decorating the table. We took an opportunity to take a few pics with Jack too.

We took a little walk with Jack where she shot this clip, he was having a good time.

This weekend I was handed an envelope with about 15 different dishes to build my own V-day dinner. We had a good cranberry spinach salad, White Pizza and we're about to dig into some molten chocolate cakes.

After dinner we read Jack a few valentines books that he seemed to enjoy, he was a little fussy, but as soon as I started reading he seemed to listen intently.

Today was awesome, Cass blew me away with all the work she went to, I'm truly one lucky guy!
